Why Mdiho exists
Paying a bill in Nigeria is rarely hard because of the payment. It is hard because of everything around it.
Nobody enjoys the five minutes before a meter runs out. The payment itself is instant; everything around it is not. Finding a card. Typing it again. Squinting at a meter number from memory and hoping it’s the right one. Then having nothing afterwards but a text message you’ll lose.
Mdiho is built around three decisions. Fund a balance once instead of paying per transaction, so the slow part happens a single time. Confirm who you’re paying before any money moves, because a mistyped meter number is expensive and slow to unwind. And write down what happened — every payment, with a reference and a token where there is one — so proving it is never a support ticket.
None of that is clever. It’s just the part most bill payment gets wrong, and it’s what we decided to get right before anything else.
